NEWSLETTER N° 202 : Technical expertise: a key asset at CHEVALIER – CLERET – ELTEC

In the elastomers industry, equipment is evolving rapidly: modern presses, automation, advanced control systems, digital production monitoring…

WORKSHOP CHEVALIER-CLERET

But behind the technology, human experience remains a key factor.

At CHEVALIER – CLERET – ELTEC, we believe that the expertise of our teams is one of the key pillars of the success of our clients’ projects.

CLERET has been in existence since 1919, CHEVALIER since 1925 and ELTEC since 2004.
This industrial history has enabled us to build up and pass on valuable technical expertise in the moulding of technical silicone and rubber components designed for sealing and damping applications.

Skills that go far beyond machinery

Even with modern, high-performance equipment, certain aspects remain closely linked to practical experience:

  • the adjustment of production parameters,
  • the analysis of defects and their causes,
  • understanding material behaviour,
  • ensuring production safety,
  • protecting our customers’ moulds,
  • optimising quality and productivity.

This knowledge is acquired over the years, through projects, trials and exchanges between teams.

The diversity of internal career paths

Within our companies, many people have progressed through various roles: production, set-up, quality, methods, industrialisation or maintenance.

This versatility now enables us to provide our clients with a comprehensive overview of technical and industrial challenges.

Every experience gained becomes a collective resource for our projects.

Passing on expertise: a strategic priority

In the elastomers industry, a significant portion of knowledge is still tied to human experience.

This is why we pay particular attention to passing on expertise.

When staff retire, we organise extensive handover periods with their replacements, even though this represents a significant investment.

These knowledge transfers are also subject to detailed monitoring in order to:

  • structure the learning process,
  • monitor the progress of the handover,
  • capitalise on key knowledge,
  • minimise the loss of expertise.

People at the heart of our organisation

Daily interactions also play a vital role.

Our daily production meetings are important opportunities to:

  • share feedback,
  • analysing the issues encountered,
  • remind everyone of best practices,
  • share knowledge across teams.

Because beyond the equipment and processes, it is above all the people who make the difference.
